A virtual computer lab service is available for creating desktop instances (such as Windows and Linux). Please make your request at least three weeks before you expect to make use of the virtual machines in your class.

To make the request, or if you would like more information on the virtual computer lab, please contact infotechsupport@umd.edu. After a lab is created access will be provided to invite students. INFO IT can help create the desktop image to be used for the class.

Most free and INFO purchased software can be installed onto the lab computers. Also, many software packages are available through UMD’s Division of IT.  A full listing can be accessed at terpware.umd.edu.
